A weekend of arts: McRae Art Studios open house, Maitland festival and more – Orlando Sentinel

Visual arts will take the spotlight at several Central Florida events this weekend with shows and open houses highlighting artistic ability and creativity.

McRae Art Studios, which is home to 23 working artists in a converted garage space in urban Orlando, will open its doors to the public for a fall open house Nov. 11-12. Artists are gearing up to show new work to potential collectors.

SOS Children's Villages Raise Over $500k at Black Ball Event – Parkland Talk

Based in Coconut Creek, SOS Children's Villages Florida is a foster care community serving up to 72 children in the residential program.

In attendance was Parkland Mayor Rich Walker with his wife, Catherine, and Commissioner Simeon Brier with his wife, Theresa.

The sold-out Black Ball event featured mystery and intrigue as guests entered through the deep fog of the black carpet and experienced a medley of oddities, masked guests, and dazzling entertainment.

Gloria and Emilio Estefan's Broadway musical plays Kravis Center

When the Broadway national tour of "On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio & Gloria Estefan" comes to West Palm Beach, the cast will include three South Floridians.

The jukebox musical runs at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts from Nov. 15 to 20 and onstage will be Miamians Adela Romero, Madelin Marchant and Lauren Danielle Horgan.
