Three Florida beaches post no-swim advisories after bacteria check

SARASOTA COUNTY – Sarasota County has posted no-swim advisories for Siesta Beach, North Lido Beach and the Lido Casino beach Thursday, after Aug. 8 water quality samples found the amount of enterococcus bacteria to exceed acceptable limits.

The Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County took new water samples at the three beaches Thursday and expects the results to be available Friday afternoon.

Hammock Dunes dune repair project to stage at Jungle Hut Park | Palm Coast Observer

A dune reconstruction project will take place south of Flagler County's Jungle Hut Park Aug. 15-30, and equipment may be staged at the park's parking lot as early as Aug. 10.
