How Florida Led the Media on Its Don't Say Gay Bill

The news cycle was packed on the last Monday in March.

DeSantis and his friends in conservative media claim the law, which critics have dubbed the "Don't Say Gay" bill, is a measure to protect kids from being groomed and prematurely introduced to sexual subject matter at school.

Although educators, LGBTQ people, and their allies have fiercely resisted the law, it's been widely touted in right-wing circles, part of an effective media campaign by the administration to shunt criticism and tout its importance.

5 Great Spots for Stone Crabs in Florida

The stone crab (Menippe mercenaria) is found in the United States along Florida's Gulf Coast and up the Atlantic coast to North Carolina and is in season only from Oct. 15 to May 1. Crab fans love these treats for firm meat from the claws – a taste similar to lobster.

The real magic of stone crabs is their ability to grow new claws when carefully removed by responsible fishermen. That's the trick: Only one claw per adult crab is removed from the crab before it's returned to the sea, leaving the creature its second claw for defense.

Some Positives from this Current Disaster of a Season - State of The U

This season has been awful for the Miami Hurricanes . Their record is 2-3, 0-1 in ACC play. Middle Tennessee State came into South Florida and whooped the Canes, 45-31. They couldn't get in the end zone against a decent, but far from great, Texas A&M team.

As underwhelming as the Canes have been this season, at least they aren't Nebraska. The former powerhouse of the 1980s and 90s is a shell of its former self.
