The SMART Ride Proves Good Things Still Happen in Florida

Venice Thrifters "Hijack" Bargain Basket | Clubs & Organizations | coastalbreezenews.com

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Pro Football Hall of Fame safety Ed Reed  walked away from Bethune-Cookman in tears Saturday following a 15-minute goodbye  in front of players, parents and even Coach Prime.

The Ed Reed Foundation  announced on social media Saturday  that the university declined to ratify Reed's contract and "won't make good on the agreement we had in principle, which had provisions and resources best needed to support the student athletes."

Disney World Shuts Down Major Park Due to Weather Concerns

Things got a little too chilly for Blizzard Beach at the Walt Disney World Resort. The Florida resort temporarily closed the year-round Blizzard Beach Water Park Saturday due to "low temperatures" in the mid 50s rising to highs in the upper 60s,  WDW Magic  reports.

Blizzard Beach reopened in November 2022 after an extended refurbishment, featuring a retheming of the Tike's Peak children's area to include touches from Disney's Frozen and Frozen II .

Waterfront Park construction set to finish by mid-August | Palm Coast Observer

Flagler County’s contractor for the $3.67 million Hurricane Dorian dunes restoration project from south MalaCompra Park to north Washington Oaks Gardens State Park mobilized on Monday and construction will begin on Wednesday.

Juvenile who stole firearms did so to scare other kids | Palm Coast Observer

A juvenile who took two handguns from his older brother said he did so to scare other children he was in a dispute with. 

The incident took place on Jan. 17 when the Flagler County Sheriff's Office received a call from a man saying that his child had gone to Holland Park to fight other juveniles; he later called back saying two firearms were missing from the home.

City OKs Hamlin parking lot on first reading | Ormond Beach Observer

The Ormond Beach City Commission on Jan. 24 approved plans to replace a home with a parking lot for an office space on West Granada Boulevard.
