SeaWorld on Tuesday announced that it has rescued, rehabilitated and released more than 40,000 animals in the history of the company.

The company mission of helping animals in need first began in 1965, when they rescued a beached Dall's porpoise.

Belle Isle Police said a jewelry salesman and his girlfriend were targeted outside a Florida hotel in broad daylight in April.

More costly hotel rooms help Orange County's tourist tax pull in record revenue – Orlando Sentinel

Pumped up by record-high room rates, Orange County's tourism industry shattered records in March for tourist-tax revenues.

'Solin's Angels' are 3 SW FL women looking to find home for puppy

Three Southwest Florida women have been dubbed "Solin's Angels," and for the dog of a homeless man, they most certainly are.

"I said we should try to fundraise to get Solin in daycare while his owner is at work," Mindak said.

"He'd be safe and his owner could get back on his feet. So, I made a post and people just started donating. It was amazing the people that helped and donated. Even the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 38 donated to help with this cause. The community has been amazing.

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — An Iowa man is accused of beating a seagull with a shovel on a southwest Florida beach in November, authorities said.

Paul John Flaucher, 30, of Jesup, was charged with one count of aggravated animal cruelty, a third-degree felony, according to Collier County Sheriff's Office online booking records. He surrendered to authorities at the Collier County Jail on Wednesday, WINK-TV reported.
