FSU basketball's RayQuan Evans raised on Montana reservation

The 6-foot-4 senior point guard and the first member of a Native American tribe to play for the Seminoles men's team calmly dropped both free throws with less than a second remaining to secure the one point win over Miami.

Evans, the son of Lavern OldElk and Israel Evans and a member of the Crow Tribe in Montana, stood at that foul line wearing the Seminoles' N7 turquoise jersey, which honors Native American culture.

SEE IT: Elementary School Employees Force Student To Eat Food From Trash as Classmates Laugh

On Wednesday, Ohio officials released a video that apparently shows elementary school staff forcing a student to eat food she had thrown in the garbage.

WKYC obtained surveillance footage from December, which apparently shows Palm Elementary School principal Debra Pustulka and paraprofessional Monika Sommers-Fridenstine watching the student throw waffles in the trash during lunch.

Anonymous caller gives police heads up about a local 'cult' | Ormond Beach Observer

Larceny.  A 42-year-old Ormond Beach woman's purse was stolen while she was at a local park in what police refer to as a "smash and grab" burglary.

According to the incident report, the woman had left her purse on the passenger seat of her car while she walked over to the park's center fountain to take a few photos, since she planned on getting married there in the near future.

Volusia County Council approves $3.86 million ECHO grant allocation | Ormond Beach Observer

The Volusia County Council approved $3.86 million in ECHO grants on Tuesday, Jan. 18, which will go toward nine projects throughout the county, the bulk of which will go toward neighboring Holly Hill's Pictona project. 

Holly Hill requested a $2.5 million grant, considered a "exceptional grant," for phase II of the pickleball complex. The city plans to add 24 more courts, a championship court, stadium and an education center, and put forth a $3.3 total match for the project.

Reward offered for return of stolen French bulldog from Florida hotel | NewsRadio WFLA | Florida
