As president of the Florida Women's Art Association, LC Tobey wanted to bring forth a spring exhibit that had never been done before at the Museum of Arts and Sciences.
And in turn, she thought of her 2019 trip to Paris. Umbrella art installations are fairly common. During her trip, Tobey got the chance to experience one, a memory that resurged once she took the helm of FLWAA, which has a membership of over 100 artists.

Senate President Wilton Simpson saw to it that the budget included $2 million to provide women with hormonal long-acting reversible contraception or HLARC, for short. It refers to intrauterine devices or IUDs, and implants inserted under the skin of the upper arm.
Planned Parenthood describes HLARC as the "most effective forms of reversible birth control. They're safe and effective for most women and teens and can be removed at any time at a health center if you're ready to get pregnant."
