TAMPA, Fla. - For some teens facing mental health struggles getting help could mean missing class, which may add to their stress.
A new study shows more than 50 percent of teenagers say they need a mental health break from school or work to cope with their mental well-being. That's according to a recent survey of more than 1,900 teenagers by the non-profit Mental Health America.

"This bill's not for Blacks, this bill was not for any other race. This was directed to make whites not feel bad about what happened years ago," said state Sen. Shevrin Jones, who is Black.
DeSantis held a news conference last month in which he called critical race theory "crap," and said he would seek legislation that would allow parents to sue schools and employees to sue employers if they were subject to its teachings.

Florida bill would allow cameras in classrooms, microphones on teachers
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A new bill making its way through the Florida Legislature would allow school districts to put cameras inside classrooms and record students and teachers.
The bill states the purpose of the cameras would be to record "incidents" such as bullying, or neglect performed by a teacher or student.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – A Florida bill requiring the study of Asian American Pacific Islander history in applicable classes passed unanimously on Tuesday.
Stewart, alongside three other co-sponsors, explain in the bill it would allow for the inclusion of AAPI "immigration, citizenship, civil rights, identity, and culture" when discussing history in Florida classrooms.
