The leader of Florida's environmental protection office announced Thursday he is leaving the post he's held since 2021 to work in the private sector. Hamilton, who was appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis to the position of Secretary of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection in August 2021, said in a Thursday note to staff that serving as secretary has been "one of the greatest honors" of his career.
