It all began with a gorilla. After leaving a career in chiropractic medicine, Howard Alan opened the retail store Rainbow's End in 1982 in Plantation, featuring the works of artists and crafters on consignment.
Based in Jupiter, the enterprise has since been the force behind 45 annual juried art shows and 40 annual craft shows across South Florida and the nation.
Disney Announces Return of Half Marathons In Anaheim, Orlando
Disney officials announced last week they will be bringing back their half-marathon to its parks in California and Florida next year after a seven-year hiatus.
The "runDisney Race," which is part of the park's "Half Marathon Weekend," will take place in January 2024. The event will feature 5K and 10K races, with registration starting next month.
Thousands of collector cars up for bid at Kissimmee auction
KISSIMMEE, Fla – Mecum Auctions, one of the world's largest collector car auction companies in the world, has consigned more than 4,200 cars for this year's Mecum Kissimmee 2023 event.
According to David Morton, manager of communications and event marketing at Mecum, the company's first auction in Kissimmee, way back in 2004, had a mere 400 cars up for bid and generated $4 million in sales.
