The Flagler Palm Coast News-Tribune publishes deed recordings of recent property sales in Flagler County supplied by the Flagler County Clerk of Circuit Court. The listings are limited to properties that sold for $300,000 or more.

Scot E. Smith: Speeding motorcycles have become a problem on Eighth

It's 2 a.m. on a typical Thursday in Gainesville. The weekend has already started. I remember my students telling me the mantra: "Thursday is the new Friday."

Noise from the outdoor music nightclub venues is quieting down, but motorcycles are just getting started. They will run full throttle until dawn.

City's Cassen Park survey receives over 300 responses | Ormond Beach Observer

Both groups had an opportunity to weigh in during a public meeting held  at City Hall on Tuesday, Feb. 8, where staff posted the four proposed concepts for the park.

The city also conducted an online survey that allowed residents to provide input remotely. It garnered almost 350 responses, and about 25 people attended the meeting.

Roodepoort shine at Johannesburg West District awards | Roodepoort Record

The Gauteng Department of Education’s Johannesburg West District held their annual awards ceremony on February 5.

The event celebrated the achievements of the class of 2021, recognising the efforts of teachers, learners and administrators alike.

District Director, Lehlohonolo Ramokhoase gave the opening speech, breaking down an impressive 2021 in stats. The Johannesburg West District recorded the fourth best results across South Africa and was ranked second in Gauteng.

Protecting Flagler County's coast could cost $6 million per year | Palm Coast Observer

Until Hurricane Matthew carved chunks of pavement out of State Road A1A in 2016, Flagler County had largely been spared from major storm surge damage to its shoreline.

But even so, experts told county commissioners at a Feb. 7 workshop, the county’s dune system and beaches have been gradually eroded, and existing and planned beach nourishment programs that would cover a few miles each will not be enough to protect it.

Hawks probe directors who allegedly received R10m for PPE and evaded paying tax

Pretoria - Two companies and their directors have been served with summons to appear before the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court for alleged tax evasion involving personal protective equipment (PPE) supplies tender of about R10.3 million.

"The pharmaceutical company allegedly received a payment of approximately R10.3m and failed to declare the taxable R800 000 to the SA Revenue Service (Sars) for the period," said Mulamu.

'Don't Say Gay' bill supported in Senate | Palm Coast Observer

Senators on Tuesday, Feb. 8, gave initial approval to a controversial proposal that critics have dubbed the “don’t say gay” bill because it could curtail school discussions about sexual orientation and gender identity.

The bill would require that school districts “may not encourage” discussions related to sexual orientation and gender identity “in primary grade levels or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students.”
