American Heritage girls beat perennial power Miami Country Day - South Florida Sun Sentinel -

PLANTATION — Two South Florida girls basketball powerhouses faced off in Plantation on Tuesday night — one from Broward County and the other from Miami-Dade County. The Broward team came out on top.

American Heritage and Miami Country Day, which have combined for 11 state titles since 2014, faced off in the Patriots' gym, and Heritage came away with a 72-59 victory over the Spartans.

Hikers’ Video Shows Missing Florida Woman Swimming in River Before Her Disappearance

A 31-year-old woman last seen in mid-December has now been spotted on photographs and a video taken by hikers at a Florida river the day after she disappeared.

Paola Miranda-Rosa reportedly had dinner with family members on December 17, the Osceolo County Sheriff’s Office said . Her car was found at Wekiwa Springs State Park on December 21, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office .

Alleged School Shooter’s Parents ‘Drained’ His Bank Account When They Fled

A Michigan judge on Friday denied a defense request to lower the bonds for the parents of accused school shooter Ethan Crumbley after prosecutors alleged in court that James and Jennifer Crumbley had “drained” their own son’s bank account and fled Oxford for an abandoned

Defense attorneys Mariell Lehman and Shannon Smith, who previously represented convicted child molester and former USA Gymnastics coach Larry Nasser, filed last month to lower the Crumbleys’ bonds to $100,000 from $500,000.
