Florida hotel will be the first newbuild for Radisson Individuals brand: Travel Weekly

The Cocoa Village Hotel in Cocoa, Fla., will be part of Radisson Hotel Group, signing on as the first new property to join the company's Radisson Individuals soft brand.

Expected to open next year, the 107-room Cocoa Village Hotel will be located in downtown Cocoa, offering guests quick access to nearby Port Canaveral.

MLB's Spring Training Delay Cost Hotels as Much as $51 Million in Revenue

When Major League Baseball's owners and the MLB Players Association could not come to an agreement on the collective bargaining agreement before the originally scheduled start of Spring Training, the impact was wider than just baseball.

Communities in Florida and Arizona, which host the Grapefruit and Cactus leagues respectively, were left without the familiar sign of early spring, and hotel markets in those two states were left with two fewer weeks of room nights to sell to visiting fans, a valuable demand source.

Hotel inspections: Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin counties in March

In the most recent 30-day reporting period, 24 Treasure Coast hotels were inspected. Twenty passed first inspections. Four others did not pass their first inspections. Four were issued warnings or were recommended for administrative complaints.

Sandpiper , 555 NE Ocean Blvd., Stuart, had two violations including no form of ventilation provided in the bedroom in unit 3105; and stairway/platform/balcony railing is in disrepair.

Inflation and staffing shortages threaten recovery of Florida lodging industry - Villages-News.com

The American Hotel and Lodging Association has released a report that projects hotel business travel revenue will remain down this year 23 percent below pre-pandemic levels, ending the 2022 down more than $20 billion compared to 2019.

"Florida remains a top destination for both leisure and business travel, but today's projections have Florida ending the year 11 percent down for business travel.
