Florida girls basketball player Rose, who was born with a heart condition called Tetralogy of Fallot, had a remarkable performance in a game against Pensacola Catholic Crusaders on December 11. With limited time left in the game, Rose received a perfect pass from her teammate MaKayla Plato and sunk a layup, causing excitement in the Northview gym. The Crusaders then intentionally passed the ball to Rose under the basket, who went on to make three more layups, including one as the buzzer sounded. The elation and joy in the gym were palpable, with Rose's teammates and coaches cheering for her.

Rose's teammate Mary McGovern described the moment as "special," saying that the whole team was happy for her and that it was cool to see the ball coming towards her.
