5 Best Things To Do In Sarasota, Bradenton

Image More details: Found here

This whole week feels like a holiday — and probably is for many — so we're kicking off our Top 5 events in Sarasota and Manatee counties with a hugely popular pub crawl happening today, Dec. 26, in Siesta Key Village.

Other selections include two of the region's biggest Chanukah festivals, one in Sarasota and the other in Venice, as well as a free outdoor screening of the classic film "Toy Story" at University Town Center.

Last but definitely not least, it's not too late to experience the brilliant million-light display at Selby Gardens along Sarasota Bay in downtown, which feels even more special when paired with a gourmet meal at their Green Orchid restaurant.

For party people of a certain age, there are no bigger annual holiday events than Siesta Key Village's famed pub crawls: the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Eve, followed by the Santa Stumble, which takes place each year the day after Christmas. Pro tip: Daiquiri Deck is offering Santa Stumble VIP wristbands in advance for $15, which allow you to skip the line and enjoy early entry. VIP wristbands can only be purchased at Daiquiri Deck's South Siesta and Siesta Village locations. Early entry starts at 8 p.m., with general admission beginning at 9 p.m. today, Dec. 26. Chabad of Venice's annual Chanukah Klezmer Festival at Centennial Park will feature gelt dropped by firefighters from 25 feet in the air. Other highlights include the lighting of a 16-foot menorah and plenty of delicious food for sale, which in past years has featured latkes, stuffed cabbage, and matzo ball chicken soup. 4:30-6:30 p.m. Sunday; Centennial Park, 200 W. Venice Ave., Venice; free; 941-493-2770; chabadofvenice.com

University Town Center's popular Holiday Movies Under the Stars series continues with the 1995 computer-animated classic "Toy Story," featuring the voices of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Annie Potts, John Ratzenberger, Don Rickles, Wallace Shawn, and Jim Varney. First, consider dining at one of UTC's nearby restaurants , and then enjoy on-site concessions starting at 6 p.m. The outdoor theater is located in the West District at the UTC parking lot, right by Ford's Garage, making it convenient for those seeking an adult beverage. Limited seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
