Boe, a Florida native and second oldest of 13 brothers and sisters, has transformed a modular gas station unit into one of the best beach bars in the state, Doc's Beach House. The unique establishment overlooks Bonita Beach, a testament to Boe's vision and unwavering spirit. According to a story by Bonita Banner correspondent Cathy Cottrill, Dale, Boe's brother-in-law, initially owned the 100 feet of beachfront where Doc's is now. He envisioned a snack stand and, in a creative twist, repurposed a modular gas station unit from Checker Oil. The daunting task of transporting the heavy unit resulted in a blow to 11 tires, but it was eventually secured on pilings, setting the stage for the creation of Doc's Beach House.
Mr. B's opened its doors on Thanksgiving 1979, serving fast food and ice cream. Today, "it's a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.".. offering a relaxed atmosphere and attentive service. Guests can soak in the sun while enjoying the delicious food, "refreshing drinks.".. and the stunning beach views.
