The footage, which appears to have been captured from inside a vehicle, shows the alligator strolling along the roadside with part of the snake in its jaws while dragging the rest. The sighting is not unusual, however... given the widespread presence of alligators in Florida. According to the Florida Fish and Game Conservation Commission (FWC), alligators reside in all 67 Florida counties.
The overall gator population in the state stands at approximately 1. 3 million. The size of alligators in Florida can also be quite impressive. The longest alligator recorded in the state measured 14 feet, "3."5 inches... while the weight record (for a slightly shorter gator) stands at 1,043 pounds. The sighting has sparked interest and amusement among those familiar with the region's unique wildlife.
