According to a prediction from CBS Sports writer Will Backus, the University of Florida's football team is expected to struggle through its challenging schedule this fall. In his projections for the Southeastern Conference's win totals, Backus predicts that the Gators will finish the season with a record of 4-8, a result that is unlikely to please head coach Billy Napier.
Backus notes that the Gators' schedule is particularly daunting, with several tough opponents on their slate. Despite this, he believes that the team could potentially show improvement from last year's performance. However, he still expects the team to finish with a worse record than anticipated. Specifically, Backus predicts that the Gators will win four of their 12 scheduled regular-season games. These wins are expected to come at home against the Samford Bulldogs, UCF Knights, "and Kentucky Wildcats.".. as well as on the road against the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
The Gators' first game of the season will be against the Miami Hurricanes on August 31 at 3:30 p. m. ET, "broadcast --- on ABC Sports." It --- to be seen how the team will fare against its challenging schedule... but Backus's prediction suggests that it will be a tough season for the Orange and Blue. Source: Yahoo Sports.
It is no secret that the Florida football program has one of, if not the most, difficult schedules among all of the Football Bowl Subdivision schools this coming fall. While some of the more favorable prognostications call for a .500 finish, others are not so bullish on the Gators. CBS Sports writer Will Backus put together his predictions for the Southeastern Conference's win totals , with the Orange and Blue expected to win just four of their 12 scheduled regular-season games.
