FLORIDA PARK RANGER TALKS PLANTS & SURVIVAL AT UPCOMING LECTURE

The History of Diving Museum's Immerse Yourself lecture features park ranger Chris Herald on native plants and survival on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. 

In this talk, Herald will showcase the significance of flora found in the Florida Keys by connecting native plants, survival skills and indigenous uses.

SKATE DEBATE: COMMUNITY OFFERS DESIGN INPUT FOR MARATHON'S NEW PARK PLANS

Vocal social media critics of early plans for a redesign of Marathon's skate park were nowhere to be found at the city's Feb. 6 workshop to solicit public input about the preliminary design concepts.

The evening opened with a presentation from Tito Porrata of Platform Group, a professional skate park design firm tasked with developing the overarching concept for the revamped park , billed as a "wheel park" to be used by skaters, rollerbladers, bikers and scooter riders alike.

300-UNIT APARTMENT COMPLEX IN FLORIDA CITY TO BENEFIT UPPER KEYS WORKFORCE

The Florida Keys is longing for more affordable housing, and it appears the upper island chain is getting some help from a project near the 18-Mile Stretch in Florida City.

Coral Gables-based Coral Rock Development Group recently unveiled plans to develop 13 acres of property located outside the Florida Keys into 300-plus residential apartments.
