The Florida House of Representatives on Thursday approved legislation that would ban certain discussions of gender identity and sexual orientation in schools.
Florida's House passed the Parental Rights in Education bill — known to its critics as "Don't Say Gay" — on Thursday in a 69-47 vote. It now moves to the Senate, where a similar piece of legislation is already being debated.

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Among the bills making their way through the Florida Legislature in 2022 is one aimed at imposing limits on alimony payments when a marriage is dissolved.

Florida's Senate president is working for one client: Big Sugar - Florida Phoenix
Here's an example: When I worked at the then-St. Pete Times, we came up with a rude name for the left hand bottom quarter of the front page. Anything that runs there tends to be the least-read story on the page, so we referred to it as the "Doyle Conner Memorial Corner."
But I would hardly call the ag commissioner job dull nowadays. Our fine Legislature has put Conner's successors in charge of everything from issuing concealed weapons permits to investigating consumer fraud (two jobs that would fit better under the Florida Department of Law Enforcement).

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A possible move to future technology could be coming to Florida this year, if a bill passes that allows for digital license plates. Should it pass, the Sunshine State’s residents could upgrade displays and move away from metal license plates entirely.

The vandalism which destroyed club posters and the threats of physical harm come as debates about LGBTQ students rage locally and in the Florida Legislature.
