The Acoustic Music Festival is set to return in 2026, promising a diverse lineup of performances and activities. Music director Arlene Boumel has curated an exciting schedule, featuring both local and international artists. Nigel Wearne, an Australian guitarist, will take the stage on Sunday at 6 p. m., showcasing his remarkable skills.
He will be followed by The Janzen Boys, a Canadian family trio renowned for their captivating folk harmonies. Local talent will also be on display, with the University of Miami students' bluegrass act, Wire Jays, performing at 4:45 p. m. on Sunday. Earlier that day, The Luna Stars, a group of local artists who regularly play at North Miami's Luna Star Cafe, will take part in a "play in the round" session, allowing each musician to shine.
As reported by Miami New Times, one local singer-songwriter, Sarah McCulloch, is vying for a spot on the festival's main stage through the 2026 Songwriting competition. McCulloch, who grew up attending the festival, credits Florida's rich folk music heritage as a significant influence on her songwriting.
