Millions To Travel Despite Looming Storm On Thanksgiving Holiday

As Thanksgiving approached, millions of Americans prepared to travel, undeterred by the looming threat of a coast-to-coast storm. According to AAA, 81. 8 million people were expected to venture at least 50 miles from home over the holiday period, spanning from Tuesday, Nov. 25 to Monday, Dec. 1. Of this staggering number, 6. 07 million were anticipated to take to the skies.

The storm, predicted by AccuWeather, could bring rain and snow, potentially causing flight delays across several areas. As of early Nov. 25, over 500 delays and fewer than 50 cancellations had been reported, affecting flights within, in, or out of the U. S. Travelers heading to Florida could breathe a sigh of relief, as AccuWeather forecasted good travel weather in the state.

However, this didn't necessarily translate to smooth flying, particularly if their flight was bound for a trouble spot. For those concerned about flight disruptions, resources were available to help navigate the chaos. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Customs and Border Protection provided information on wait times at airports and border crossings.

The TSA app allowed travelers to check and post airport delays reported by fellow travelers in real-time.
