Events In Brevard County This Week

Several events are happening in Brevard County this week. The UF → IFAS Brevard County Extension is hosting Butterfly Appreciation Day on Wednesday, Sept. 3, from 10 a. m. to noon. This free community event features presentations on butterfly species and pollinator gardening, followed by a guided walk at the Brevard Discovery Garden. Guests can explore the garden to spot butterflies, caterpillars, and chrysalis, and learn to identify pollinators on host and nectar plants.

The event takes place on Wednesday, Sept. 3 from 10 a.m. to noon. starting at the auditorium. Following presentations, participants will visit the Brevard Discovery Garden for a guided walk to look for butterflies, caterpillars and chrysalis.

During the garden walk guests can use their newfound knowledge to identify pollinators on both host and nectar plants. Presentations will include topics on butterfly species, creating a pollinator habitat and more. Admission is free, with a suggested $5 donation.
