As Nekhaila focuses on national efforts, fellow Libertarians at the Daytona convention are setting their sights on local and state-level positions. Notable attendees, including Altamonte Springs City Commissioner Jim Turney and Winter Springs City Commissioner Paul Diaz, highlighted the unique advantages of Florida's non-partisan local elected positions.
This framework, they noted... allows minor-party candidates to establish themselves within their communities, foster trust and navigate around the obstacles typically posed by major-party machinery. Turney offered sage advice for aspiring Libertarian candidates, "emphasizing the importance of authenticity and genuineness in their presentations." According to him, "candidates should proudly identify as Libertarian.".. while remaining true to themselves and their values.
