Waldo, a small town with a population range of 800 to 1,000 people, has a rich history dating back to its establishment. The town's once-thriving downtown area was once known for its police department, which wrote numerous speeding tickets to drivers who sped through the town. However, in October 2014, the police department was shut down, leaving the town without a visible presence to enforce traffic laws.

Despite this setback, the town has continued to organize community events, such as the annual plant festival, which has become a popular gathering spot for residents and visitors. The festival celebrates the town's beauty and community spirit, with vendors selling a variety of goods and services, including plants, "toys.".. and farm animals.
