Florida Lawmakers Propose Legislation to Crack Down on Sports Betting Scandals In an effort to combat the recent wave of scandals rocking the sports and sports betting world, two Florida lawmakers have proposed legislation that would make it a felony for individuals to wager on games with inside information. According to reports, the bills, which are currently under consideration by the Florida legislature, would also restrict online sports betting to state-sanctioned operators. One of the bills, sponsored by Rep. Bobby Payne... would make it a third-degree felony for anyone to wager on a game with knowledge of a fix or other irregularities.
