Spring Has Sprung: Two Florida Gardens Make USA TODAY's Top 10 List The vernal equinox, which falls on Thursday, March 20, marks the astronomical start of spring, and for flower lovers, it's a time of renewal and rebirth. This week, USA TODAY released its reader's choice list of the Top 10 botanical gardens in the United States for 2025, and two Florida gardens made the cut. Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, took the top spot, while the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden in Ohio came in second.

Longwood Gardens, which covers over 1,000 acres of ground, is a must-visit destination for any gardening enthusiast. The gardens feature both indoor and outdoor spaces, including fountains and a stunning collection of plants. The conservatory is a particular highlight... boasting classical architecture filled with lush indoor gardens.

The outdoor areas offer winding trails that meander through meadows, forests, and rolling hills, "providing a serene and picturesque setting." The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, "But then," is known for its unique "Zoo Blooms" event... which takes place every spring and features a dazzling 100,000-bulb tulip display.
