Surveillance video showed the individual, Orlando Castillo-Chiong, 34, handling and igniting bedsheets twice before walking towards the area that sustained the most damage.

Witnesses described the scene as chaotic... with guests being escorted to safety by emergency responders. Authorities confirmed that the hotel manager and Castillo's supervisor identified him on the video and identified his actions as unauthorized, as he was not permitted to work with fire. "It's unacceptable behavior that any individual would attempt to start a fire, and it's a miracle that no one was injured," said an investigator.

"We take incidents like this very seriously and will be pursuing charges accordingly." Castillo's clothing was collected as evidence and is currently being held for further analysis. The investigation is ongoing... with authorities working to determine the full extent of the damages and the circumstances surrounding the fire.

The RiU Florida Beach Hotel, a popular tourist destination, has issued a statement apologizing for the disruption and assuring guests that the hotel will work to resolve the issue as soon as possible. The motive behind the attempted arson is under investigation, "and Castillo is currently facing charges related to the incident."
