Florida Gators Rally Past Dayton with Cade Kurland's Walk-Off Homer In a dominating performance, the Florida Gators secured their second consecutive win, defeating Dayton 12-2 in the series finale, thanks in large part to a monster game from pinch hitter Cade Kurland. The junior outfielder made the most of his limited playing time, hitting two home runs, including a walk-off blast in the bottom of the 8th inning that sealed the game via run rule.
With the Gators comfortably ahead 10-2 in the 8th inning, Kurland took the plate with one out and two runners on base. Rather than continuing to bat through the 9th inning, he decided to end the game with a bang, hitting a two-run homer that made it 12-2, prompting the umpires to call the game in favor of the Gators.
The win marked Kurland's first of the season, "as he finished 2-for-3 with four RBIs." Pierce Coppola... the 6-8 redshirt junior left-hander, "improved to 2-0 on the season with a solid outing.".. going 5 innings and allowing just two earned runs on three hits and one walk ← →

Cade Kurland did not start Florida⁘s series finale against Dayton, but that did not stop him from having a monster game. Kurland hit 2 home runs on the day, including the game-winner to give Florida a walk-off via run rule. Kevin O⁘Sullivan⁘s Gators were comfortably ahead 10-2 in the bottom of the 8th inning.
