GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - The UF women's basketball team closed out their 2024 nonconference schedule in impressive fashion, defeating Alabama State 88-31 on Sunday afternoon. Senior Ra Shaya Kyle led the charge, posting 16 points and 11 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the season.

Liv McGill was also instrumental in the win, contributing 15 points and matching her career-high with nine assists. Kenza Salgues and Jeriah Warren joined the double-figure club, with Salgues scoring 11 points and Warren adding 10.

Florida's defense set the tone early, holding Alabama State to just seven points in the first 15 minutes. By halftime, the Gators had built a commanding 24-point lead, 39-15. Kyle was key on the boards in the opening half, recording six rebounds, while Me'Arah O'Neal pulled down four. McGill was active defensively with four steals, and Alexia Dizeko added three steals. As a team, Florida totaled 20 rebounds and nine steals in the first half.

Florida's dominant performance was a fitting way to end their 2024 campaign as they look ahead to the next challenge.
