This Weekend and Beyond: Oktoberfest, Haunted Mazes, and More As the season winds down, residents of Southwest Florida are in for a treat with a host of fun events and attractions scheduled to take place over the next few weeks. The highly anticipated 17,000-square-foot haunted maze, Legends of Oblivion, at the Lee Civic Center is returning, boasting to be the largest haunted attraction in the region.

According to Wayne Anderson, a Fort Myers native and special effects artist behind the event, this year's attraction promises to be bigger and better than ever, featuring original monsters, special effects, and even aliens. The event was initially set to begin on October 18, but was postponed due to Hurricane Matthew.

Now rescheduled for Halloween and running from October 31 to November 10... the haunted maze is sure to thrill and chill visitors. Tickets can be purchased online in advance or at the door, with prices ranging from $28 to $74, dependent on the type of experience chosen. The event is held at the Tinsley Pavilion on the grounds of the Lee Civic Center, located at 11831 Bayshore Road in North Fort Myers.

For those looking to celebrate German culture, the 39th annual Okotberfest is returning to its second weekend, taking place from October 25 to 27. The event features an array of traditional German food, ___ music, and vendors, as well as a kids' carnival area. General admission tickets can be purchased online in advance or at the gate... with prices set at $8 in advance and $10 at the door.

The Laboratory Theater of Florida is also set to open its production of "Dracula: The Shadows That Bind," a comical take on the classic Bram Stoker novel. The show, originally scheduled to begin on October 18, has been rescheduled for October 25 to November 9. Tickets are available online, with prices ranging from $37 to $10 for students.
