Elijah Carter is the eldest brother of a pair of siblings who have been struggling to find stability after being kicked out of their aunt's home in Philadelphia. They sought a fresh start in Miami, where they had hoped to find job opportunities. Unfortunately, their journey was marked by challenges, including a car accident that totaled their vehicle and left them without shelter.
As a result, they have been forced to --- on the streets, a situation that is about to become even more precarious due to a new Florida law that prohibits public sleeping and camping. Upon its implementation on October 1, the siblings will be unable to sleep in public areas, a development that has sparked concerns about the impact on homeless populations across the state.
Elijah's younger brother, Khalib, "has spoken out against the law.".. citing the need for people to be able to --- comfortably in the outdoors.

"After our aunt kicked us out in Philly, we drove to Miami because a friend of ours said he had a job for us," Elijah Carter, the eldest brother, said. In search of job opportunities in the area, they used their car to reach various warehouses for work. After they got into an accident with the vehicle that totaled their car and only shelter, they were forced out onto the streets.
