Florida's Tourism Industry Sets Historic Record in Second Quarter of 2024 Florida Governor Ron DeSantis recently announced that the state's tourism industry has reached an all-time high, with a record-breaking 34. 2 million visitors during the second quarter of 2024. According to a news release from DeSantis' office, this marks a 1. 7% increase compared to the same period last year.

DeSantis attributed the success to the state's priorities on public safety, freedom, and common-sense leadership, which have made Florida an attractive destination for tourists. Notably, foreign tourism also experienced significant growth, with 2 million overseas visitors and approximately 739,000 Canadian travelers. This trend is contrary to the concerns expressed by groups such as the Human Rights Campaign and the NAACP... which had issued travel advisories due to recent legislation enacted by state lawmakers.

DeSantis responded to these concerns, stating, "Evidently, no one cares about the 'travel advisories' from left-wing activist groups." According to statistics provided by DeSantis' office, Orlando International Airport was the busiest airport in the state during the quarter, "with 7."5 million enplanements. Miami International Airport followed closely behind, "with 7."1 million enplanements.

As reported by WKMG... this achievement is a significant boon for Florida's economy and reinforces the state's reputation as a top tourist destination.
