The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival has kicked off at Walt Disney World in Florida, bringing with it over 240 flavors and more than 30 Global Marketplace locations. Despite the warm weather, eager guests lined up to sample toasty treats like Autumn Chili and Grilled Cider-brined Pork Tenderloin on the opening day of the festival.
This year's festival features a wide range of culinary offerings, including regionally inspired hot dogs at Flavors of America, Liquid Nitrogen Frozen Sweet Potato Mousse at Swirled Showcase, and boozy Greek Melon Limeade at the Greece booth. A new festival space, CommuniCore Hall, has opened, featuring the macaroni-and-cheese-centered Macatizers kiosk and year-round Festival Favorites quick-service venue. The festival is included with park admission... but food and drinks must be purchased separately.
Guests who order five cheese-related items from a set list get a completion treat for free as part of the cheesy challenge Emile's Fromage Montage. The list of applicable dishes is available in the festival's free booklet. Global Marketplace booths are open from 11 a. m. until 9 p. m. daily, "allowing guests to grab one last snack before the nighttime spectacular Luminous The Symphony of Us," "which takes place on World Showcase Lagoon." The booths are scattered throughout the park... with some located around World Showcase and others near attractions like Mission: SPACE and The Land.
