Winter Park Playhouse Celebrates Record-Breaking Attendance at Florida Festival of New Musicals Winter Park, FL - The Winter Park Playhouse is thrilled to announce that the 2024 edition of the Florida Festival of New Musicals has achieved its highest attendance in event history, with a 10% increase from the previous year.

Each finalist presents a one-hour version of their work in a concert-style format, performed three times with minimal staging by casts of professional performing artists. The 2025 edition of the festival is scheduled to take place from June 19 to 22, with submissions open from July 1 to September 13. The Winter Park Arts Cultural Alliance has revealed plans to revive the Weekend of the Arts event, set to take place from February 21 to 23, 2025. This popular event, which was first launched in 2018, will offer free events and special programming for all ages, showcasing the contributions of local arts nonprofits. The City Commission has approved the Blue Bamboo Center for the Arts' plan to repurpose the old library building, which will feature a --- music venue and music and arts education facilities for use by community arts organizations.

Winter Park-based Central Florida Vocal Arts, "one of the project's partners," is set to embark on its 12th season in September with a production of Gilbert and Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance.
