Jacksonville is gearing up for a weekend of diverse entertainment as summer approaches. Music festivals and performances are taking center stage, with the country music festival being one of the highlights. For those who prefer a taste of tradition, the Jacksonville Symphony will be performing Billy Joel's greatest hits with special guest Michael Cavanaugh.
Foodies will also have plenty to savor at the third annual Mudbug Fest in James Weldon Johnson Park. The event features vendors, a kids' zone, and ⁙⁙⁙ music from various artists. Expect a hot night at Daily's Place when Americana/country singer Parker McCollum brings his Burn it Down Tour to town. It's his first big headlining tour and he's bringing Corey Kent along to open the show. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The show is sold out, but you may still be able to find resale tickets.
