Discussion:

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has emphasized that the program is voluntary, meaning schools are not required to have a chaplain and students are not obligated to work with them. If a school does choose to implement a chaplaincy program, parental permission would be necessary for students to participate. DeSantis stressed that the program is voluntary. Schools don't have to have a chaplain and students don't have to work with them. Parental permission would be required if they do.
