Gasparilla Music Festival announces 2023 lineup
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Gasparilla Music Festival returns to downtown Tampa in April, but this time at a different venue.
The two-day festival will take place at Curtis Hixon Park on April 29 and 30, but music fans will also encounter performances at venues along the Riverwalk, like Sparkman Warf and the Straz Center.

In Northeastern Pennsylvania in the 1950s, a small town decided to change its name to honor Native American Olympic hero Jim Thorpe.
"The real story is that Jim Thorpe had visited near Carlyle and people got all excited about building this memorial about two miles outside of town. For a while it was a huge tourist thing," he said in a recent interview with director Kate Alexander.

After a rocky 2023 that has included looking for a new venue due to Kiley Garden being closed for water intrusion issues , Gasparilla Music Festival is set for April 29-30 at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park in downtown Tampa. The initial lineup was announced today.
Tickets are on sale now at gmftickets.com . General admission single-day tickets are $50, and two-day tickets are $80. VIP single tickets are $125, or $200 for both days. Tickets are exchanged for wristbands at the gates and are non-refundable.

One of the Gainesville community's largest annual cultural arts events is set to return this weekend in a new location after a three-year hiatus due in part to the COVID-19 pandemic.
