Things got a little too chilly for Blizzard Beach at the Walt Disney World Resort. The Florida resort temporarily closed the year-round Blizzard Beach Water Park Saturday due to "low temperatures" in the mid 50s rising to highs in the upper 60s, WDW Magic reports.
Blizzard Beach reopened in November 2022 after an extended refurbishment, featuring a retheming of the Tike's Peak children's area to include touches from Disney's Frozen and Frozen II .

So far, crews have cleared ground for a 60-by-100-foot concrete pad and started the dredging process for the new kayak launch, according to a press release from the city.
Eric Gebo, a city government stormwater and engineering architect, said the contractor is working to protect the park’s natural flora.

Flagler County’s contractor for the $3.67 million Hurricane Dorian dunes restoration project from south MalaCompra Park to north Washington Oaks Gardens State Park mobilized on Monday and construction will begin on Wednesday.
Additionally, daily shorebird surveys conducted by the Atlantic Ecological Services, beginning March 1, will not be impacted.
Juvenile who stole firearms did so to scare other kids | Palm Coast Observer
A juvenile who took two handguns from his older brother said he did so to scare other children he was in a dispute with.
The incident took place on Jan. 17 when the Flagler County Sheriff's Office received a call from a man saying that his child had gone to Holland Park to fight other juveniles; he later called back saying two firearms were missing from the home.
City OKs Hamlin parking lot on first reading | Ormond Beach Observer
The Ormond Beach City Commission on Jan. 24 approved plans to replace a home with a parking lot for an office space on West Granada Boulevard.
Though the first-reading vote at the meeting was unanimous, the commission approved the request with the stipulation that the applicant include an eight-foot fence behind the office property and a masonry wall around the parking to ensure privacy for residents.
