Reading that the defensive back class is still strong makes the McClain miss easier to swallow. The Kearny flip was massive too, especially given that Florida took him from their biggest in-state rival.

What World Cup, Post-Pandemic, Really Means - Sports Talk Florida - N

By Bruce Murray

Our global society faces many challenges. Currently, a war is being fought in Europe after Russia invaded Ukraine and a conflict rages on.

I had the honor of playing on the U.S. National Team at the 1988 Summer Olympics and in the 1990 World Cup.

This year, for the first time, the World Cup will be held in the Middle East, in the Arab nation of Qatar. Qatar has only 350,000 citizens and less than 3 million residents but expects 1.2 million visitors during the month-long tournament with 32 teams competing from around the globe.

SWFL cross country: Fort Myers, ECS, Bishop Verot, Palmetto Ridge

Fort Myers hadn't won a state trophy in 37 years before claiming second in Class 3A last season. The Green Wave did not need to wait nearly as long this time as they placed second for the second straight year Saturday in Tallahassee.

"I had a lot of great competition in the girls 1A race this year, so I am really happy to come away with a bronze finish and a personal record," said Povich. "It was especially exciting to do so in Tallahassee on my new home course, as I recently committed to run at FSU.

Thursday Night Football: Undefeated Eagles face woeful Texans - Sports Talk Florida - N

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A.J. Brown had already caught three touchdown passes and was running toward his fourth when — boom! — he got caught from behind and had to settle for a mere 43-yard gain.

"My teammates  gave me a hard time  for that," Brown said, laughing. "I definitely felt like I was going to score. (The defender) did a good job of swiping my legs and getting me down. I was upset. I think that was the first time I got caught in the NFL."
