Not in the giving mood on Thanksgiving, Florida women's basketball opened the St. Pete Showcase by putting the clamps on Green Bay.
The Gators (5-1) forced Green Bay (2-2) into 22 turnovers, including 11 steals, in a 61-52 victory.
"That game was really important for our growth as a team. That was a really well-coached team. Green Bay is consistently a tournament team," Gators coach Kelly Rae Finley said. "They're really hard to beat."

The Florida women’s basketball team defeated the Furman Paladins 77-50 in Monday night’s matchup in Gainesville.
The Gators were led by sophomore guard Alberte Rimdal, who went 5-9 from the field, 4-8 from beyond the arc, 5-5 from the free-throw line, while scoring 19 points in the winning effort. Senior guards Leilani Correa and Nina Rickards also contributed 17 and 15 points, respectively.

After going into halftime tied with the Horned Frogs (2-2), the Bulls (5-0) pulled away in the last two quarters to open up a 13-point lead over TCU. However, a late surge by TCU dwindled USF's lead down to just two points with a minute left in the game.
With USF on the verge of blowing a double-digit lead, senior guard Elena Tsineke made a layup to break the Bulls' scoring drought. Tsineke's late bucket combined with TCU's missed layup on the other end sealed USF's fifth consecutive win.
