TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Alligator hunting season looks a bit different this year thanks to statewide changes as participants descend on the Sunshine State to harvest some of the estimated 1.3 million alligators.

Palmetto berries on Flagler County public lands might be tempting to pick, but county ordinance forbids it.
“It’s palmetto berry season, which means it is the time of year when we see people on the side of roadways and in our parks to pick the berries.
Flagler County ordinance also prohibits the removal of soil, rock, sand, stones, trees, shrubs, plants, or wood materials. Violators can expect to pay a penalty of up to $500.

A house on the Halifax River was the top real estate transaction in Ormond Beach and Ormond-by-the-Sea for the week of July 10-16 in the Multiple Listing Service. Truman and Sherry Gailey, of Ormond Beach, sold 936 John Anderson Drive to Robert Blanchard, of Ormond Beach, for $2.95 million.
Russell and Jessica Allen, of Ormond Beach, sold 35 Dormont Drive to Blake and Kelly Murchison, of Ormond Beach, for $520,000. Built in 1958, the house is a 3/2 and has 1,786 square feet. It sold in 2020 for $299,500.
