Florida bill allowing cities, counties to restrict beach smoking still pending – Action News Jax

UPDATE 6/21/2022: The News Service incorrectly reported in a brief Friday that Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill (HB 105) that would allow cities and counties to restrict smoking at beaches and parks that they own. The brief was based on information posted on the Florida Senate website.

The bill (HB 105) builds on a 2002 constitutional amendment that prohibited smoking in restaurants and at other indoor workplaces.

Most Black organizers are seeing the struggles of achieving local support despite Juneteenth's federal recognition. There are still 26 states haven't adopted Juneteenth as a paid public holiday. Each Staes' reasons for not observing the holiday varies.

Juneteenth is also known as "Freedom Day" or "Emancipation Day." It commemorated the historic event on June 19, 1865. A full force of federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, and they freed the enslaved African Americans.

Trump boasted that he drew larger crowds to his speeches than Martin Luther King Jr.

Speaking in Nashville, the former president spent several minutes boasting about the crowd size for his speeches.

Trump bragged incorrectly that his speeches had bigger audiences than Martin Luther King Jr 'I Have A Dream' speech.

Trump said his speech on January 6, 2021, which preceded the Capitol riot was "the largest number of people I've ever spoken to."
