The national conservative advocacy group, backed by the billionaire Koch brothers, wants Gov. Ron DeSantis to veto $35 million from the upcoming Florida budget for a baseball complex and potential spring training site for the Tampa Bay Rays.

"Professional sports teams are no different than any other industry — they don't deserve special handouts. Whether it's the NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA or any other league, our tax dollars shouldn't go toward professional sports stadiums.

Are Miami Heat well positioned in Eastern Conference race? - South Florida Sun-Sentinel

Q: The Heat finish with top teams and then three lesser opponents (two of whom fighting for playoff berths). Their last week might allow for some time to allow the core four to reach full health. -- Leonard, Cornelius, N.C.

A: Doubt it, as long as the ultimate goal is the highest possible playoff seed. Outside of the season finale on April 10 in Orlando, every game the Heat have remaining is against a team that either is playing for playoff seeding or play-in positioning.

"He got a lot of clutch," center Bam Adebayo said, with the third-year forward blocking two shots and drawing a critical late charge on Jayson Tatum.
