Six area schools posted top-10 finishes in the various regionals. Eustis won the Class 1A-Region 3 title, edging The Villages by two points (43-41), while South Sumter (23 points) finished fourth, Mount Dora (18) was fifth and Wildwood was seventh (12).
In Class 2A-Region 2, Leesburg finished tied for third along with Middleburg. Green Cove Springs Clay dominated en route to winning the regional title with 49 points, followed by New Smyrna Beach (23) and Middleburg and Leesburg (18).
